Course Eligibility

Whether you are a recent graduate looking for a first step into TESOL teaching, to make a career or to travel, or if you are seeking a career change or you are currently working as a teacher and wish to gain this universally accepted qualification for career progression – the Trinity CertTESOL is for you.

The Trinity CertTESOL qualification is designed for those who wish to pursue a teacher role in the TESOL and related sectors. No previous work experience is required for enrolling to the Course.

The following is the eligibility criteria for the Course:

  1. All candidates must be a minimum of eighteen years old at the time of initial assessment. There is no upper age limit.
  2. Entrants must have a standard of education that would allow entry to Higher Education in their own country or equivalent experience and Eurospeak will need to see originals of qualification certificates.
  3. Applicants also must have an awareness of language and a competence in both written and spoken English that will enable them to undertake the course and prepare for teaching a range of levels.
  4. Non-native applicants will be asked to provide evidence of their competence in the language in the form of a formal English language qualification. (Acceptable qualifications for non-native speakers are IELTS Band 7.0, Cambridge Proficiency Grade B or above).

Before candidates are accepted on the course, there is an initial assessment of their suitability for the proposed course of study. This includes an oral interview and a written assessment.
